Starting from hand-drawn sketches, I modeled this billet aluminum donut fairlead ready for CNC manufacturing. The challenge was balancing aggressive exterior styling with the smooth, sweeping toroidal surfaces required for low-friction winch rope recovery—all while keeping toolpaths efficient and surfaces dialed in for post-machining anodizing.
